Paratus Group, a Pan-African telecommunications and network services provider, announced on Wednesday the launch of Paratus Tanzania through a joint venture with Green Telecom.

Martin Cox, Chief Commercial Officer of Paratus Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Having secured the necessary regulatory licences, we are excited to partner with Green Telecom to introduce Paratus Tanzania. With professional technical engineering teams deployed nationwide, we are well-positioned to offer excellent connectivity and backup solutions to rural and underserved areas”.

Green Telecom, founded in 2013, initially provided technology solutions for mobile network operators before expanding into connectivity and telecom network services.

The company now customises network service management and integration. This alliance will create many jobs over the coming year, boosting the local economy.

Tanzania’s tourism sector has notably increased, with tourism numbers rising by about 25 per cent in the last year. This growth presents substantial opportunities for Paratus Tanzania to provide high-quality connectivity services to support this booming sector.

Paratus target key growth sectors

Paratus Tanzania is strategically positioned to support several key sectors in Tanzania. Said Alli, Managing Director of Paratus Tanzania, highlighted the focus on tourism, mining, NGOs, the health sector, and the EACOP. “With this JV, we will be targeting many sectors, including tourism. Tanzania is currently experiencing a tourism boom – in the last year, for example, tourism numbers rose by around 25 per cent– so for this sector alone, there are huge opportunities”.

Paratus Group can now provide customised network services to businesses in Africa and beyond by expanding to Tanzania.

Cox emphasised, “At Paratus, we are at the forefront of Africa’s digital revolution, transforming connectivity across the continent and enabling individuals and businesses to reach their full potential”. This expansion underscores Paratus’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and driving digital transformation in Africa.
