According to TelCables Southern Africa, a division of Angola Cables, a multinational supplier of ICT solutions and services, the country’s backbone network infrastructure has been updated.

With this significant improvement, the network’s capacity has increased from 500 Gbps to 800 Gbps in South Africa, according to the business. With a more robust and dependable infrastructure to handle the growing traffic, this improvement meets the increasing demand for cloud and data services.

Those who receive the upgrade should be able to enjoy seamless data transfer and communication since it is designed to offer faster and more secure connectivity.

This development demonstrates the company’s relentless commitment to satisfying the changing needs of its clientele and fostering the expansion of South Africa’s digital ecosystem.

With this upgrade, the organisation is poised to deliver even more efficient and reliable services, further solidifying its position as a leading telecommunications solutions provider in the region.

TelCables Boost Network for Smooth Communication

The network upgrades will provide local ISPs, CDNs, and international and national operators with more flexibility, scalability, and capacity to better manage their specific needs and requirements in terms of IP connectivity and services, according to Mahen Naidu, Head of Business Solutions at TelCables South Africa.

They have experienced double-digit growth in traffic over their network in recent months and have increased our bandwidth from 500 Gbps to 800 Gbps to provide more seamless connectivity and improved performance to meet the growing demand from businesses better to manage their SD-WAN, Cloud and data traffic requirements.

According to Naidu, it is about more than just meeting demand. To make sure they are also in a position to provide high-quality and high-performance business connectivity solutions to the South African and African markets, they have also opened two new Points of Presence (PoP) at NTT Parklands and Xneelo Samrand in Johannesburg.

This is on the back of the recently established Durban PoP at the Teraco Riverhorse DB1 facility. The upgraded network will now give customers 100GE capabilities when routing via Teraco JB1, Teraco CT1 and Teraco DB1.

TelCables Upgrades Flexible Networking for Seamless Growth

Based on the statement, Naidu said that the true advantage of this is that it will allow network providers and other operators to grow their networks and client bases while also allowing them to change traffic flows as needed without interfering with network traffic or additional cross-connect costs.

Naidu elaborates that TelCables, powered by the robust Angola Cables global subsea network, can provide customers with better routing options to markets in Latin America, the USA and Europe.

The ability to provide prompt and effective alternative routing choices to customers affected by cable outages in the Red Sea has also proven successful. This is crucial for maintaining business connectivity and continuity.

Along with providing better, more flexible alternatives for the transit of IP traffic across the continent and to other areas of the world, the enhancements will guarantee that we can handle additional traffic from new and existing connections, he continues.
