MTN Ghana’s CEO, Stephen Blewett, has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications for the 2025–2026 term. His successor is Patricia Obo-Nai, the CEO of Telecel Ghana, who currently occupies the position of Vice-Chairperson.

Proven leader in telecommunications
Stephen Blewett brings extensive experience to his new role. Since April 2024, he has served as MTN Ghana’s CEO, driving the company’s commitment to digital transformation, local entrepreneurship, and network expansion. Before this, he held leadership positions across MTN’s West and Central African markets and at Digicel. His expertise encompasses marketing strategy, customer experience, business planning, and negotiation.
Blewett’s leadership has been crucial in promoting innovation and growth within MTN Ghana, underscoring the significance of local digital solutions in the country’s technology sector, as per industry sources.
Driving digital connectivity and economic Inclusion
Blewett has stressed the vital role of digital connectivity in Africa’s economic integration and development. At the Africa Prosperity Dialogue 2025, he highlighted MTN’s efforts to bridge the digital divide by investing in high-speed internet, mobile money solutions, and skills development initiatives.
“All discussions on Africa’s single market will fail without investing in connectivity and integration,” Blewett asserted.
MTN Ghana’s strategic projects, such as the Ghana ICT Hub, aim to enhance sectors like health, agriculture, and education via technology, creating jobs and enabling businesses to thrive.
