216 Capital Ventures has provided an investment of US $336,000 to the online retailer Drest, which has its headquarters in Tunisia, in order to facilitate the online retailer’s expansion into the African market.

Online retailer Drest carries ready-to-wear items as well as products in the beauty, accessories, fashion, and lifestyle categories. Omane and Malek Mzabi established the company in the year 2020.

Drest will be able to continue to expand at its current rate while simultaneously breaking into the African market thanks to 216 Capital Ventures, a venture capital firm that recently participated in a funding round to the tune of US $336,000.

Remarks from some executives

“Drest is proud to announce its partnership with 216 Capital Ventures. This fundraising round will allow us to strengthen our team, our technological and logistical resources, and offer an even more optimal customer experience,” said Omane and Malek Mzabi.

“We are delighted with this fundraising round, which will allow us to continue our development and strengthen our presence in the African market. We plan to invest in technological tools, recruit experts in each field, and invest in marketing to become the Top-of-Mind brand for the general public.”

About DREST

DREST is a game company that brings together the imaginative realms of high-end fashion, beauty, and lifestyle with the unfathomable scope of the metaverse. DREST is an organization that is dedicated to utilizing digital technology for the betterment of society. As part of this commitment, the company incorporates meaning into gamification and also lends support to a variety of philanthropic projects. Drest was initially conceived of and established by Lucy Yeomans, while Lisa Bridgett currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

The Drest app, which can be downloaded for free, will provide you style challenges for various celebrities and events. These challenges must be completed in order to earn points and money that can be spent on new clothing within the app. You are able to put together an entire wardrobe with components that are readily available to purchase in stores right now. The competition includes well-known brands such as Gucci, Prada, and Versace, amongst many more.

The company is currently seeing engaged users playing five challenges a day and spending about 33 minutes in the app, and their virtual wardrobes and portfolio of looks reflect their own unique perspective on fashion. DREST has a captive audience who are learning about fashion and developing strong brand affinities. The development of Drest brings the concept of digital clothes one step closer to the mainstream; Lucy Yeomans, is betting that sales of luxury brands can be driven by digital gaming in the same way that Louis Vuitton and Gucci have done.

Natalia Vodianova, Precious Lee, and Irina Shayk are a few of the real-life models whom the crew at Drest have recruited to serve as avatars. In addition to that, they have worked with guest models like Kate Moss. The employees of this organization encourage users to come and live life on a photoshoot through the usage of this digital platform. After the shooting, the users are assessed on how they styled the avatars or models that were provided to them.
