UAC Nigeria has launched the 1879 Tech Hub, an initiative dedicated to fostering digital innovation and embedding technology into African business operations. The hub, named after UAC’s founding year, represents the company’s strategic move toward leveraging technology as a catalyst for growth, sustainability, and value creation.

Speaking at the launch, Group Managing Director of UAC Nigeria, Fola Aiyesimoju, highlighted the significance of the initiative, which aligns with two of the company’s core values: people and technology. “I am excited and grateful for the vision and execution by the team as I look forward to harnessing its impact to deliver value to our customers and investors,” Aiyesimoju said.

UAC’S tech hub for transformation

Staffed by a team of subject matter experts, the 1879 Tech Hub is designed to integrate advanced digital solutions into UAC’s operations. Its objectives include enhancing customer experiences, streamlining processes, and reshaping organisational culture to ensure that technology becomes an integral part of business strategies.

David Dogeni, Chief Technology Officer and Head of the hub, underscored its mission to enable African businesses to become digital natives. He explained, “1879 Tech Hub is a dynamic blend of creativity, innovation, and technology, designed to drive business growth, ensure sustainability, and create lasting value for all stakeholders. We are passionate about helping organisations evolve into digital natives, and we are excited about the future we are about to unlock with new transformative opportunities.”

Dogeni added that the hub aims to set new standards for business technology in Africa, positioning itself as a leader in digital transformation across the continent.
