A new WhatsApp update will let you send a message that can only be viewed once. This new function is still being developed by the WABetaInfo Community using the Google Play Beta Program.

Some beta users have already received this upgrade, and it will be rolled out to everyone in the next WhatsApp beta for Android.

A view once text, yet what is it exactly? Naturally, when the recipient opens the discussion, the text will no longer be visible and will be unreadable.

How does WhatsApp view once messages work?

Once video and photo functions are comparable to this new capability, However, there are a few minor variations.

Now you can leave a voicemail-style message for missed WhatsApp calls

A new button with a lock symbol has been added next to the conversation bar as a result of this functionality. You must click that button to turn a message into a view-once text.

Once complete, a constrained viewing window is automatically opened for the text message. This text message function, like the view, once options for photographs and movies, would be useful when discussing essential or sensitive material.

Since WhatsApp information is already encrypted, some people have questioned the importance of this feature; however, users can frequently leak information by snapping screenshots. However, this new function prevents sharing, forwarding, or copying of view-only text messages.

Additionally, screenshots will be prohibited, making it hard for receivers to save a copy of the message. For further privacy, it also deletes the messages from the recipient’s phone after they have been viewed.

Since this feature is still in development, the layout might change before it is released, but the finished product will look very much like how it does right now.

Additional updates for WhatsApp

The WABetaInfo community is also developing other WhatsApp upgrades. A reply function for announcement groups in its communities is being developed, the company recently disclosed.

Given that the communities’ participant list is private, the update aims to include a function that enables users to respond to messages without disclosing their phone numbers.
