Aminata Kane has been named senior vice president and head of Western and Central Africa by Visa effective September 4.
Visa’s recently formed sub-regional team, which will cover 23 markets through four important offices in Abidjan, Accra, Kinshasa, and Lagos, will be led by Aminata, who is based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Having worked as an executive for Orange throughout the Middle East and Africa for more than ten years, Kane is a well-known leader in digital financial services and telecoms.

Her most recent position was that of Regional Chief Executive Officer for Orange Money Group, where she was in charge of Orange Money and Orange Bank Africa’s operations in 17 different countries.
A committed advocate for inclusive development, Kane has championed initiatives that empower youth and women through technology, establishing the Orange Foundation and the Orange Digital Center in Sierra Leone—both dedicated to fostering leadership and equipping individuals with essential digital skills for the future

Aminata Kane started her career with Goldman Sachs before moving to Paris to work as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, where she gained extensive knowledge of financial strategy, market expansion, and change.
The World Economic Forum has dubbed her a Young Global Leader, and she was recently recognised as one of the Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa. She has a solid academic background from HEC Paris and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
