Nigerian Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Vitel Wireless has announced its nationwide network services.

The company said in a statement on Thursday that it will begin releasing 50,000 SIM cards and eSIMs to a select group of subscribers in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), providing millions of people with dependable, reasonably priced, and high-quality connectivity.

It claimed that this demonstrates its dedication to revolutionising the telecom industry by offering seamless and easily accessible mobile services to both urban and rural communities.

It further stated that it will close the digital divide and promote inclusive growth by emphasising innovation, affordability, coverage, and customer satisfaction.

“More than half of the initial release will be available through authorised retail outlets, Vitel Wireless Airport Kiosks, and mobile kiosks utilising Know Your Customer (KYC) verification via NIMC’s new SIM-NIN telecommunications registration platform.”

“The remaining SIM cards will be allocated to subscribers for innovative value-added services, including Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, Safer Home AI camera systems (iSEEYOU), employment performance monitoring App (Oga-App), and location-based services solutions, such as SecurMe and Push-My Location, among others. This initial deployment enables the company to test its network, optimise its MTN roaming partnership, and implement adjustments prior to the full launch in Q2 2025,” the statement said.

Executive Chairman, Kenneth Nwabueze, said: “We are excited to bring Vitel Wireless’s innovative services to Nigeria, a vibrant and dynamic country with potential. Our goal is to deliver dependable connectivity that enables Nigerians to connect, communicate, and thrive in the digital age. This rollout is just the beginning — we look forward to expanding our services and making a positive impact across the nation.”

Vitel Wireless partners with MTN to boost high-quality services in Nigeria

One of Africa’s biggest and most well-known mobile network operators, MTN Nigeria, has successfully integrated its network with Vitel Wireless, Nigeria’s top Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).

This milestone signals the start of a new era in offering Nigerian customers cutting-edge and reasonably priced telecommunications services.

According to a statement released by the company’s Chief Operational Officer (COO), Mr. Chudi Nwabueze, Vitel Wireless is able to provide high-quality voice, data, and value-added services throughout Nigeria thanks to its smooth integration with MTN and Nigeria’s vast network infrastructure.

Nwabueze added that Vitel Wireless is prepared to introduce its mobile network services throughout all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), noting that the partnership highlights Vitel Wireless’ dedication to increasing connectivity options and improving user experiences in Nigeria’s quickly developing telecommunications market.

He claims that Vitel Wireless now makes use of MTN Nigeria’s extensive coverage to guarantee dependable connectivity for clients all over the country.

Thanks to the partnership, Vitel Wireless can offer competitive plans, adaptable packages, and customised solutions to satisfy various customer needs.

Vitel Wireless’s commitment to developing vibrant MVNO industry in Nigeria

The COO clarified that Vitel Wireless is still leading the development of a vibrant MVNO industry in Nigeria, the continent’s largest market and most populous country, even after the NCC licensed 46 MVNOs.

The company has already accomplished several historic firsts, such as being the first MVNO to issue a numbering plan and national and international routing codes.

He added that Vital Wireless is the first to integrate with a major MNO, MTN, as a roaming partner, launch a location awareness network in Africa, and achieve interconnectivity with Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile.

He added, “We are excited to officially launch our services in Nigeria through our partnership with MTN Nigeria. This achievement reflects our dedication to delivering accessible and innovative mobile solutions to Nigerian consumers. We look forward to building a strong presence and contributing to Nigeria’s digital transformation.”
