As a top telecom provider, Vodacom Lesotho has reaffirmed its commitment to improving its network quality to meet customers’ changing needs.
On Saturday, the company assured its customers that it is upgrading its network and systems with state-of-the-art technology.
It stated, “We recognise the critical role a reliable and high-performing network plays in your daily lives, whether streaming entertainment, connecting with loved ones or managing your work remotely. To ensure we meet your evolving needs, we are upgrading our network and systems, incorporating cutting-edge technology.”
Areas of improvement for the network upgrade
The company listed areas which are intended to see a discernible improvement as a result of these upgrades:
Crystal-Clear Voice Calls: Customers will experience improved audio quality, fewer dropped calls, and clearer, more reliable voice calls.
Faster and More Reliable Data Speeds: Customers will notice improved responsiveness, faster downloads, and more seamless streaming when using data-intensive apps or browsing the web.
Increased Network Coverage: By extending its network’s reach, the company ensures that customers can use its service in more places, including areas that weren’t previously served.
Improved Network Stability and Resilience: The new technology will reduce outages and service interruptions by strengthening the network’s overall stability and resilience.
Customers to experience slight service disruptions
This upgrade is essential to preserving the high-quality service to which customers are entitled. However, like any significant infrastructure project, these improvements take time and work.
Throughout this process, Vodacom assures customers that it is trying to minimise any service disruptions.
However, as the company completes these crucial improvements, customers might notice brief and slight changes in connectivity or performance.
“However, like any major infrastructure venture, these upgrades require time and effort. We are working diligently to minimise disruptions to your service during this process”, Vodacom Lesotho stated.
“Nevertheless, you may experience temporary and minor fluctuations in connectivity or performance, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete these essential enhancements. Thank you for your continued loyalty and support.”
Vodacom Group CEO’s visit to Lesotho
Earlier this month, the Vodacom Group CEO, Shameel Joosub, concluded a high-level working visit to Lesotho to strengthen the long-standing alliance between Vodacom and the country.
Mr. Joosub met with Prime Minister Sam Matekane and his team to emphasise Vodacom’s commitment to investing in Lesotho’s developing digital economy.
Vodacom’s crucial role in furthering Lesotho’s national digitisation agenda was central to the strategic discussions.
Mr. Joosub described the company’s wide-ranging initiatives to create a strong digital ecosystem in detail.
These include addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment through targeted empowerment and enabling smooth e-payment systems that speed up financial inclusion.
A key component of this approach is the historic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce the Digital Skills Hub, a ground-breaking program that offers essential digital and technology training to young people in Lesotho at no cost to participants.
