Vodacom's 5G speed tests hit 2Gbps

Vodacom, a South African company that provides connectivity, digital, and financial services, recently broke a local record by getting internet speeds of 2.4 Gbps throughput in a 5G test on a live site. This was the first time this had ever been done in the country. Vodacom also launched South Africa’s first 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.

The study was done with a commercial smartphone. The commercial base stations’ network is built for better end-user experiences. It can provide exceptionally fast internet speeds. Because of these things, telecommunications companies are very interested in it and are willing to pay billions of dollars for it.

It offers a wide range of communication services to 130 million customers, including Safaricom. These include data, mobile and fixed voice, messaging, financial services, enterprise IT, and converged services.
