WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025 – First Series is intended to help school candidates, who have shortcomings in their WASSCE results to bridge the gap.

The latest statement is coming on the heels of a statement credited to John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs in Ghana, in an interview with JoyNews’ AM Show in Ghana on December 31, 2024 that students who failed certain subjects in their previous attempts can retake the examination in January and February.

Similarly, in a statement posted on its X platform on Tuesday, WAEC announced that the registration period for private candidates to take the 2025 First Series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been extended from Monday, January 6 to Monday, January 20, 2025.

The purpose of this extension is to provide prospective candidates more time to complete the registration process.

It is recommended that prospective candidates use this chance to make sure they are properly registered before the revised deadline.

Candidates must finish their biometric capture and submit their online registration by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, according to a statement on WAEC’s official website.
