WhatsApp released three new features to revolutionise group calls. The rollout includes a ‘raise hand’ option, call scheduling, and emoji reactions to make group interactions easier and more entertaining.
These changes benefit casual and professional users, enabling more organised and interactive talks.
Schedule calls for better planning
You can now set up group or one-on-one calls on WhatsApp. Users can choose a day and time for their call by clicking “Schedule call.” They can also invite people or groups by clicking the “+” sign on the Calls page.
The Calls tab lists people going to calls and links to those calls. Before the call, participants are told about it, which cuts down on missed meetings. This feature makes family and work meetings easier by giving them a structure and a reminder.
Engaging calls with raised hands and emoji reactions
WhatsApp has incorporated a “raise hand” option to enhance the flow of calls. Participants can indicate their wish to speak uninterrupted, which assists hosts in managing turn-taking.
Emoji reactions enable individuals to respond promptly with emotive icons without disrupting the speaker. These technologies cultivate a vibrant, respectful atmosphere in which all individuals are encouraged to participate in informal group calls or large meetings.
Enhanced call link management
WhatsApp also enhanced call links. Developers of call links now receive notifications when someone joins via the shared link. In real time, hosts can track attendance and better manage meetings. With these tools, WhatsApp becomes a complete platform for organised and interactive group interactions.
These new features should be available worldwide in the following days. Even while adding services, WhatsApp protects consumers’ privacy with end-to-end encryption for private calls. WhatsApp’s new updates promise a smoother, more connected experience with family and coworkers.
