YouTube, Google’s platform for viewing videos, just released a new app for people who make videos called “YouTube Create.”
YouTube said that the new app has tools for editing videos, like precise cutting and editing, automatic captioning, voiceover, and access to a library of filters, effects, transitions, and royalty-free music with beat-matching technology so that creators don’t have to use complicated editing software to make their next YouTube video.
They were able to do it all on their phones.
The tool is meant to help creators with things like editing and using artistic tools like stickers, GIFs, and effects, among other things.
The company says the app was made based on what content makers said about their problems.

Anyone can now create
YouTube announced in a blog post that anyone may produce and share content with the new app:
We understand video production might be challenging and hinder first-time creators from posting. YouTube Create, our new mobile app, simplifies this process and lets anyone create and share YouTube videos. YouTube Create, available in beta for Android in certain areas, is free and simplifies video production for short and longer videos so creators can focus on more creative work.
After adding footage, artists could choose from several editing tools to start their videos.
When putting together a movie, they can use the app to preview splits and trim their clips. In the app, you can also find thousands of stickers, GIFs, and effects.
Coming AI feature
YouTube said it would test a new Dream Screen tool later this year. It said this feature will let people make backgrounds for their shorts made by AI by just putting an idea into a prompt.
“Have you ever wished you were making a movie in space? Going on a walk through a magic forest? Have you ever dreamed that your dog took you to school? With Dream Screen, people who make shorts can make new, fantastic scenes for them that are only as limited as their imaginations. We’ll start by letting a few artists know about Dream Screen before rolling it out to more people next year.
The company said, “In the future, we’ll add features that will let anyone instantly rethink their videos by just typing in an idea for how to edit their content or remix existing YouTube videos to make something completely new.”

YouTube Create was pushed by competition
TikTok is YouTube’s biggest competitor, so it’s no surprise that some of YouTube’s newest features are also inspired by it.
Collab, similar to TikTok’s Duet feature and letting users respond to a video in a split-screen format next to the original video as it plays, was just added recently.
YouTube just revealed that live vertical videos will also be coming to Shorts. This is something that TikTok and Instagram already have.
Creators can livestream in a vertical video style for their followers to join with this feature.
