Keep reading for the full breakdown on CcHUB EdTech Fellowship — everything you need to know is covered below.

This 12-month edtech fellowship promises not just cash but hands-on incubation to scale solutions for overlooked learners across Africa.

Targeting overlooked learners in a 12-month edtech fellowship

The 12-month edtech fellowship zeroes in on startups serving people with disabilities, refugees, rural communities, and young girls facing barriers to learning.

Past cohorts have supported over 70 edtech ventures, including Smart Stewards, hiPrep, and FlexiSAF, now reaching 700,000 learners—89% children and youth, split nearly even by gender at 49% female.

CcHUB partners with Mastercard Foundation to deliver $100k grants per startup, plus mentorship and technical aid for product refinement.

Nissi Madu, CcHUB Managing Partner, stated: “Cohort 4 reflects our commitment to supporting solutions designed for learners who are too often underserved by mainstream innovation. This means building for real-world environments where infrastructure may be limited, and implementation requires contextual understanding.”

Applications for the 12-month edtech fellowship close on March 30, 2026, and are open only to early-stage Nigerian edtech teams.

$100k grants fuel complex edtech challenges

This 12-month edtech fellowship shifts from standard models reliant on steady internet and school schedules, instead backing tools for spotty connectivity and underfunded systems.

Startups can build learner apps or data platforms that align with actual school operations and drive decision-making. Each selected edtech firm gets $100k grants without giving up equity, alongside ecosystem connections for sustainable growth.

CcHUB, Nigeria’s pioneer innovation centre since 2010, with outposts in Kigali, Nairobi, and Windhoek, drives this push. Eligible applicants apply via the program’s site to join the 12-month edtech fellowship and claim $100k grants.
