In a significant effort to bridge the gender gap in Africa’s tech sector, Folu Adeboye, the wife of the General Overseer of RCCG, launched The Ladies in Tech Africa (LITA) Program.

In partnership with Africa Missions Global (AMG) and The Incubator Hub, this free three-month initiative will equip 76,000 women across Africa with essential tech skills. The program began on August 19, 2024, and offers accessible online training in high-demand areas like digital and creative economies.

The program is part of AMG’s Horizon 2033 initiative, which targets empowering 100 million Africans with skills for digital and creative economies by 2033. By focusing on mentorship and career guidance, LITA aims to nurture female tech entrepreneurs, fostering innovation and economic growth in Africa.

Fostering Sustainable Development through the Tech Program

The LITA program aligns with AMG’s broader community development and empowerment mission, contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. By investing in women’s tech education, LITA is strategically filling a gap in the industry and driving social development and sustainable economic growth across Africa. The program is a well-thought-out move to fast-track Africa’s digital transformation and create a more inclusive tech ecosystem.

LITA’s Collaborative Efforts for a Greater Impact

The partnership between AMG and The Incubator Hub highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in driving social impact.

The Incubator Hub, a tech-based learning centre, is crucial in providing the necessary resources and support for the program. These organisations ensure that African women have the tools and opportunities to succeed in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

With LITA, Africa Missions Global and its partners are setting the stage for a future where African women are at the forefront of technological innovation.

The initiative is a bold step toward closing the gender gap in tech and ensuring women have equal opportunities to thrive in the digital economy. As the program progresses, it is expected to impact Africa’s tech industry and contribute significantly to the continent’s development.
