Co-creation Hub (CcHUB), Africa’s biggest innovation hub, has named Ojoma Ochai as its new Managing Director.

Bosun Tijani, who used to be CEO, is now acting as Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and the Digital Economy.

Ochai is known for her influential work supporting Nigeria’s growing creative businesses. She used to be the Managing Partner at CcHUB’s Creative Economy Practice. With almost twenty years of experience in both the creative and tech industries, Ojoma Ochai is seen as a leader driving new ideas and improving the creative scene in Africa.

Funke Opeke, Chairperson of the CcHUB Board, spoke about the appointment and said that Ojoma’s track record and ability to lead strategically are precisely what the hub needs to continue building on its goal to help Africa become more prosperous through innovation.

“We are thrilled that Ojoma has agreed to become the new Managing Director of CcHUB.” Funke Opeke said, “Her dedication to bringing about social change through new ideas and creativity is at the heart of what CcHUB stands for.”

As of now, Ojoma Ochai is the Managing Director of CcHUB. The organisation wants to grow by working with more partners, becoming more established in Africa, and significantly impacting the innovation ecosystem across the region.

Ojoma Ochai spearheading Co-creation Hub’s mission and growth

Co-Creation Hub, Africa’s premier technology innovation ecosystem builder, is dedicated to accelerating the application of science, technology, and social capital for economic prosperity across the continent.

CcHUB was started in 2010 as Nigeria’s top innovation hub. It has locations in six African towns: Lagos, Abuja, Ijebu-Ode, Kigali, Nairobi, and Windhoek.

CcHUB wants to find and support new ways to solve Africa’s social problems by working with people like businesses, civil society groups, the government, and the private sector.

The organisation’s job is to build a robust innovation ecosystem by encouraging partnerships and sharing industry knowledge to help entrepreneurs and creators develop solutions that are well-thought-out, useful, and scalable.

More on Co-creation Hub

Bosun Tijani and Femi Longe created the Co-Creation Hub in October 2010. The social innovation hub at 294, Herbert Macaulay, Yaba, launched in September 2011 as an open living lab to accelerate the use of social capital and technology for economic growth. It involves a community of progressive stakeholders (end-users, subject-matter experts, government agencies, businesses, academics, civil societies, etc.) who use their creativity and knowledge to co-create solutions to social issues facing average Nigerians.

The pre-incubation and research team at CcHub advises mentors and funds entrepreneurs’ discoveries. One of Africa’s few financially successful innovation centres, the CcHub houses over 50 Nigerian companies, including BudgIT, Wecyclers, Truppr, Genii Games, Lifebank, GoMyWay, Vacantboards, Traclist, Autobox, Stutern, Findworka, Grit Systems, and Mama

Stanbic IBTC Bank inaugurated the Blue Lab, a Co-Creation Hub-supported innovation hub, in March 2018.
