Customers of Airtel Money Kenya will be able to deposit and withdraw money at any Naivas branch nationwide thanks to a partnership between Airtel Money Kenya and Naivas Supermarket. This development was announced by the Managing Director of Airtel Money on Tuesday.

The agreement is a component of Airtel Money’s proactive plan to increase the number of its agents and establish a deeper relationship with customers.

Anne Kinuthia-Otieno, Managing Director of Airtel Money, stated during the signing ceremony that the collaboration will greatly support their continued efforts to improve their consumers’ access to financial services via their Mobile Money platform.

“Today marks a significant milestone for us, as we join hands with Naivas Supermarket to bring enhanced convenience to our customers. This partnership underscores Airtel Money’s commitment to expanding our reach and ensuring that our services are easily accessible.”

“By offering cash deposit and withdrawal services at Naivas branches nationwide, we are not only strengthening our presence but also reaffirming our dedication to providing seamless and affordable financial solutions through our Mobile Money platform,” said Ms. Anne Kinuthia-Otieno.

Benefits for Airtel Money customers who transact at Naivas branches

Customers that transact at the Naivas branches will also benefit from free withdrawal services as part of the ongoing “Rudishiwa Transaction Fee Campaign.”

With every withdrawal, this initiative, which began December 2023, reimburses Airtel Airtime for withdrawal transaction expenses. For example, a customer who withdraws 1,000 kes will be charged 25 kes for the withdrawal. The 25 kes can be used for SMS, data bundles, or airtime.

Airtel Kenya’s MD comment on the partnership

Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra, on his part, emphasised how the partnership supports the company’s objective of putting the comfort of its customers first.

“By leveraging our network expansion, we believe this partnership with Naivas Supermarket is timely and aligns with our commitment to deliver unparalleled convenience. At Airtel Kenya, we are ensuring access and affordability for all our customers, and strategic partnerships like this play a crucial role in achieving that,” emphasised Mr. Ashish Malhotra.
