On Friday, Samsung announced a new feature in its Samsung Health app that allows users to manage their medical records digitally.

This feature is part of India’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and aims to make healthcare accessible and organised for users.

A new way to manage health

The new Health Records feature lets users create and access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) directly from the app. With an ABHA ID, users can view their medical history, prescriptions, and lab reports in one place.

User registration is easy using an Aadhaar or mobile number.

Deepak Tuli, co-founder of Eka Care, shared his thoughts: “This partnership with Samsung will significantly accelerate the adoption of ABDM across India.”

Making healthcare easier for everyone

Think about a working mother managing her child’s vaccinations or an older adult keeping track of their medications.

Carrying physical files is often a hassle. This feature lets users store all their health records digitally and securely.

Samsung has made it even easier by allowing users to scan QR codes at ABDM-compliant hospitals to join virtual queues. This means less waiting time and more convenience.

Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director at Samsung Research Institute, said, “This feature empowers users to manage their health history and maintain better control over their well-being.”

Samsung has also ensured that user data is safe through its Knox Security Platform. In addition to this new feature, the Samsung Health app continues to offer other tools, such as sleep tracking and medication reminders.

Samsung’s approach simplifies and improves healthcare for all Indians.
