On Friday, MTN Uganda unveiled the Kabode Supa smartphone, reiterating its goal of lowering costs and increasing the accessibility of smart devices for all Ugandans.

With the introduction of the new Kabode Supa smartphone, MTN Uganda offers users the option to purchase it with a deposit of UGX 45,000 ($12) and pay the remaining amount, known as “Mpola Mpola,” in weekly or monthly installments of no more than UGX 1,000.

“With an initial deposit of just UGX 45,000, customers can now own a powerful smartphone and pay the rest Mpola Mpola with daily installments of not more than UGX 1,000. You can also choose to pay weekly or monthly,” MTN Uganda explained.

“At MTN, we believe that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life,” said Mackinon Kabarole, Acting Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Uganda.

“The Kabode Supa is more than just a smartphone; it’s a digital lifeline for students, entrepreneurs, and dreamers across Uganda. It represents our mission to bridge the digital divide with reliable, affordable devices — because together, our vibes are unstoppable.”

The updated features of the new Kabode Supa are designed for daily use. Its lengthy battery life enables customers to connect for longer, more extended times without constant charging.

Kabode Supa has upgraded features, a bigger battery, more RAM, an 8MP camera, and 16GB of free data.

The company says, “With more RAM and storage, the Kabode Supa ensures smoother multitasking and ample space for apps, photos, and videos. Its 8MP rear and 2MP front camera let users capture and share high-quality moments effortlessly.”

“Additionally, customers will enjoy 16GB of free data, ensuring seamless connectivity and an enhanced digital experience.”

Breakdown of purchasing the Kabode Supa smartphone in installments

Customers who initially deposit UGX 45,000 can purchase the Kabode Supa at any MTN store in Uganda.

The remaining amount is due to Mpola Mpola in flexible daily (UGX 900), weekly (UGX 6,250), or monthly (UGX 25,000) installments spread out over eight months.

This amount includes all applicable government taxes, which, if reduced or eliminated, can significantly lower the purchase price.

Completing the payment plan is even more convenient because all payments are automated. To find out if you qualify for the Kabode Supa, just dial *165*5*2*1# and follow the instructions. Every MTN store in the country has this chic and useful Kabode.

MTN Uganda’s efforts in bridging the digital gap

MTN Uganda is making a bold move to guarantee that no one is left behind in the digital revolution with the launch of Kabode Supa.

To date, more than two million consumers have benefited from the device credit financing (mpola mpola) program.

Digitally connected Ugandans are exposed to more information and possibilities, which have a direct correlation to the increased quality of life of Ugandans.

The Kabode Supa launch supports the slogan, “Together, our vibes are unstoppable!” and is part of MTN’s aim to provide Ugandans with affordable technology.

“Together, we are unstoppable, and with the Kabode Supa, Ugandans can stay connected, pursue their dreams, and unlock new opportunities in their everyday hustle,” MTN Uganda stated.
