With the theme “Give Opportunity, Gain Innovation: Advancing Women’s Inclusion in Cybersecurity,” the event explored the barriers that hold women back in the field and, more importantly, the practical steps needed to help them thrive.

Chairwoman of ISC2 Nigeria Chapter, Wunmi Faiga, who also delivered the first keynote, set the tone with a clear message: “women must build strong networks, invest in themselves, and stay resilient”. It was the kind of advice that felt grounded in real industry experience rather than theory.

The second keynote speaker, Dr Harrison Nnaji, pushed the conversation further, calling for better workplace support for women and highlighting how women’s distinct ways of thinking can bring real value to teams, decision-making and innovation across the cybersecurity industry.

The event also featured engaging panel sessions designed to educate, inspire and encourage both women already in cybersecurity and those looking to enter the profession.

Credit for the successful gathering goes to President Frank Edwakhide and the governing body of the ISC2 Nigeria Chapter, with hosting support from Teknowlege.

At a time when the cybersecurity talent gap remains a global issue, the message from ISC2 Nigeria was simple: When we give women opportunities, the entire industry gains innovation.
