The company announced on Tuesday that Fireblocks Flow will enable businesses to integrate stablecoin acceptance into existing checkout and deposit systems while allowing merchants to settle transactions in their preferred stablecoin.
The platform is designed to support payments from a broad range of crypto wallets and digital assets, without requiring merchants or payment providers to build and maintain complex blockchain infrastructure.
Fireblocks targets growing merchant demand for stablecoin payments
The launch comes amid increasing interest in stablecoins as a payment method for both consumers and businesses. Once primarily used within cryptocurrency markets, stablecoins are now being adopted for cross-border payments, remittances, savings, and merchant transactions due to their ability to offer faster settlement and lower transaction costs than many traditional financial systems.
Fireblocks cited the complexity of connecting multiple wallets and blockchain networks, meeting compliance requirements, handling asset conversions, and reconciling transactions with existing financial records as some of the key barriers to stablecoin adoption.
The company said the new product is designed to address these challenges through a single infrastructure layer that combines wallet connectivity, compliance checks, asset conversion, and transaction reconciliation.
Several companies have already adopted the solution, including African payments giant Flutterwave, AI-powered banking platform Nuvion, and Netherlands-based neobank and merchant application Blipply.
The platform currently supports more than 800 wallet types across major blockchain ecosystems, including Bitcoin, Solana, and Ethereum-compatible networks. It also enables payments originating from cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Crypto.com.
Growing stablecoin adoption creates new opportunities
As previously reported by Techpression, a survey commissioned by BVNK and conducted by YouGov across 15 countries found that 39 per cent of cryptocurrency users and prospective users now receive income in stablecoins, while 27 per cent use them for everyday purchases.
The study, which surveyed 4,658 adults who currently hold or intend to acquire cryptocurrency, found that respondents who receive income in stablecoins derive an average of 35 per cent of their annual earnings from such payments. Those using stablecoins for cross-border transfers also reported reducing transaction costs by roughly 40 per cent compared with traditional remittance channels.
The research further highlighted strong demand for greater integration between stablecoins and mainstream financial services. According to the survey, 77 per cent of respondents said they would open a stablecoin wallet through their primary bank or fintech provider if such a service were available, while 71 per cent expressed interest in using debit cards linked to stablecoin balances.
Adoption appears particularly strong in emerging markets. The survey found that Africa recorded the highest stablecoin ownership rate among the regions surveyed, with 79 per cent of respondents reporting holdings and many indicating that their stablecoin usage had increased over the past year.
The findings underscore the growing role of stablecoins in everyday financial activity and highlight why payment providers are increasingly investing in infrastructure that can support digital asset transactions at scale.
