While financial terms and rollout timelines were not disclosed, the partnership reflects growing confidence in stablecoins as a practical tool for cross-border commerce.

How the partnership strengthens stablecoin payments in Africa

Under the agreement, Fireblocks will provide the secure infrastructure that allows Cauridor to custody, govern, and settle stablecoin transactions across its payment network. The technology is designed to provide businesses and financial institutions with a safer, more efficient way to move digital assets across borders.

The company said the collaboration will improve the speed, reliability, and efficiency of payments while reducing the friction often associated with conventional international transfers.

“Building the future of payments requires collaboration with partners who share our vision for secure, efficient, and scalable financial infrastructure. Our partnership with Fireblocks strengthens our ability to deliver faster, more reliable payment solutions across Africa and beyond,” Cauridor said while announcing the partnership.

Why stablecoin adoption is growing in Africa

The partnership reflects the growing role of stablecoin infrastructure in Africa’s payments ecosystem, where businesses continue to face high remittance fees, foreign-exchange constraints, and lengthy settlement periods.

Unlike conventional payment rails that may require multiple intermediaries, stablecoins allow transactions to settle around the clock while maintaining a value pegged to fiat currencies. This has made them increasingly attractive for cross-border trade, remittances, and treasury operations across emerging markets.

With secure custody and transaction governance provided by Fireblocks, Cauridor expects to offer businesses a more dependable payment experience while supporting the broader adoption of digital asset-based financial services.

What you need to know about Cauridor

Cauridor is an African cross-border payments company focused on helping businesses move money more efficiently across the continent. The company provides payment infrastructure for international settlements, foreign exchange, and digital asset-enabled transactions, targeting merchants, financial institutions, and enterprises that operate across multiple African markets.

Led by CEO John Colson, Cauridor has positioned itself as a payments infrastructure provider rather than a consumer-facing fintech. Its core strategy is to build interoperable payment rails that connect African businesses to global liquidity while reducing settlement delays and transaction costs.

The company has been expanding its partnerships with banks, payment providers, and digital asset infrastructure firms as it deepens its focus on stablecoin-enabled cross-border payments.
