The deal, announced in June 2026, adds NoNerds’ AI infrastructure to JoAcademy’s growing education ecosystem across the Middle East and North Africa.

NoNerds built an AI-first learning platform where instructors upload courses and the system automatically turns content into flashcards, exam questions, summaries, and personalized study paths. Students can also ask questions about specific lecture content via text or voice and get answers grounded directly in the material.

The startup gained traction in Jordanian universities, logging 120+ courses, 6,000 lectures, 12,000 students, and 128,000 watch hours before the acquisition.

JoAcademy, one of the region’s largest EdTech players, serves more than 2.1 million students across Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia (via its ULA brand). The company raised a USD 28 million Series B in 2025 led by Rua Ventures, backed by 16 Jordanian banks.

With the acquisition, JoAcademy plans to plug NoNerds’ AI systems into its platform as it pushes deeper into personalized, AI-driven learning across the region.

“AI is becoming a new cognitive layer for humanity: infrastructure that reshapes how we think, learn, build, and make decisions,” said Mohammad Alsufi. “Education was one of the first environments where we applied that thesis with NoNerds.”

Alsufi, born in Amman, started building websites at 14 and launched a development company in Dubai at 16. The acquisition marks an early but notable exit in his growing AI startup track.
