Keep reading for the full breakdown on $1 million startup funding — everything you need to know is covered below.

Run by leading investment firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the 12-week accelerator offers selected startups up to $1 million in funding, alongside intensive mentorship and access to a powerful global network of operators, investors, and industry experts.

A Launchpad for High-Growth Startups

The Speedrun Accelerator is designed for ambitious founders building scalable, venture-backed companies across sectors. Successful applicants receive an initial $500,000 investment, with an additional $500,000 reserved for future funding rounds.

Beyond capital, participants gain access to more than $5 million in credits from leading technology providers—resources that enable startups to build, test, and scale products rapidly.

The programme takes place in San Francisco, where founders collaborate closely with experienced operators and investors. Over the course of three months, participants receive hands-on guidance in critical areas such as product development, hiring, marketing strategy, and fundraising.

A Highly Competitive Global Opportunity

Speedrun has quickly earned a reputation as one of the toughest accelerators to enter. Fewer than 0.4 per cent of applicants are selected, reflecting both the programme’s prestige and its rigorous screening process.

Despite this selectivity, the accelerator remains globally accessible. Founders from any country are eligible to apply, with visa support provided to enable selected participants to relocate temporarily to the United States.

This global reach is particularly valuable for entrepreneurs outside major startup hubs, offering them direct access to Silicon Valley’s resources, networks, and investment ecosystem.

Mentorship, Network, and Demo Day Exposure

Participants benefit from a16z’s extensive network, which includes executives and decision-makers from more than 2,000 companies.  This network often leads to partnerships, early customers, and future investors.

The programme also places strong emphasis on fundraising readiness. Founders receive structured support in refining their pitches, culminating in a high-profile Demo Day attended by over 1,000 early-stage investors.

Who Should Apply

The accelerator is open to early-stage founders at various stages of development, including those still refining their ideas. Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong technical or business capabilities, a clear vision, and the potential to build a high-growth company.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with the final deadline set for May 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT. The selected cohort will run from July 27 to October 11, 2026.

With its combination of funding, mentorship, and access to an elite network, the a16z Speedrun Accelerator stands out as a gateway to the global venture ecosystem. For founders aiming to scale quickly and compete on a global stage, the programme offers both the resources and the environment to accelerate growth at an exceptional pace.

Interested applicants should apply through the a16z Speedrun Accelerator official website.
