The programme is funded through South Africa’s Sector Education and Training Authority framework, which supports skills development initiatives that combine classroom learning with workplace training. Successful candidates will also receive a monthly stipend during the learnership period.

What Participants Will Learn

The company reports that learners will gain experience in data collection, analysis methodologies, business intelligence concepts, and digital technologies. The programme also places a strong emphasis on analytical thinking, problem-solving and professional workplace practices.

Participants are expected to fully engage in training activities and workplace assignments throughout the programme. The objective is to help learners develop practical competencies that can support future careers in data science, analytics and technology-focused roles.

Eligibility Requirements

Applications are open to unemployed South African citizens who possess a valid South African identity document and are available for the full duration of the programme. Candidates must have a National Senior Certificate and an NQF Level 4 qualification or a related technical course. Basic computer literacy and a genuine interest in technology are also required.

Applicants must submit an updated curriculum vitae, certified copies of their identity document, matriculation certificate and any additional qualifications. They must also provide an affidavit confirming they are not currently enrolled in another SETA-funded programme.

A Route Into a Growing Career Field

Industry experts continue to highlight data science as one of the most sought-after career paths within the technology sector. Learnerships such as this offer young people an opportunity to gain accredited training while building workplace experience that can strengthen future employment prospects.

Interested applicants are encouraged to prepare their documentation carefully and submit applications as early as possible. Wire Speed Systems advises candidates to follow all official application instructions and ensure that required documents are certified and up to date before applying.
