The festival’s co-founder, Blessing Abeng, indicated that the 2022 edition would focus on the community and feature a number of prominent members of the IT communities and contributors to the sector.

“This year, tech contributed majorly to Nigeria’s GDP. Across tech sectors, we are witnessing unprecedented market expansion, creativity, and growth in the African tech industry. In June 2022, startups raised $ 3 billion, a remarkable increase from the $1.19billion raised during the same period last year. But these opportunities also emphasize the importance of improving and providing support for African tech talents to meet the demand for their skills and ensure that they are nurtured, upskilled, and placed in the best companies across the continent. At I4G, we believe that there is a place for every tech talent; they need to be purposefully nurtured and supported. That’s why we themed this event, “No Techie Left Behind,” in line with our commitment to our community of African techies to hold their hands as they navigate their unique tech journey and increase their earning power.”

Other highlights of the event include engaging discussions with thought leaders and influencers in the tech sector, as well as a keynote address by Odunayo Eweniyi, co-founder and chief operating officer of PiggyVest, one of Africa’s top fintech firms, on “Creating a Chain Reaction of Change.”

This will immediately follow a fireside talk with Team Apts Ezekiel Sanni, who will share his inspirational journey from being a POS merchant to serving as the platform’s Head of Offline Distribution and Growth.

The co-founders of I4G, Maya Horgan Famodu, Sean Burrowes, and Abeng, are among the other speakers at the event, along with Adora Nwodo from Microsoft, Uwem Uwemakpan from Ingressive Capital, Edwin Madu from Zikoko, Koromone Koroye from TechCabal, and Joshua Koya from Nguvu Health. They must never be perceived as having been unnecessarily exposed to risk.

The event will also be supported and attended by tech startups, businesses, and communities like TeamApt, Mara Foundation, Circle, Propel, Seamfix, Mainstack, and Kibo School of Technology. This will give techies a chance to sell themselves and their skills to stakeholders and secure employment and opportunities. Exponential Destiny will teach guests how to use the Metaverse and virtual reality (VR) for SDGs. While Propel will conduct a number of masterclasses to assist techies in getting ready, gaining an advantage, and positioning themselves for international prospects.

Additionally, developers will be able to use Verified Africa, a Seamfix identity verification tool, in a Hackathon aimed at the transformation of digital identities in Africa. The winner will receive 500,000 naira in addition to other gifts from Seamfix.

TeamApt will recognize and award several tech leaders and noteworthy members of the tech community, of which Ingressive For Good ambassadors would be included in various tertiary institutions, to highlight the tremendous work of ecosystem catalysts in the last year.

Both in-person and online guests will have the chance to network with and interact with IT industry talent and learn from influential community members during the event.
