iSchool announced its acquisition of Rubikal, a software engineering firm with a track record of building products for The Walt Disney Company and Discovery Inc., marking a bold push to build the AI infrastructure schools will increasingly rely on.
iSchool operates a K-12 AI and coding education platform across more than 20 countries and has recorded over 150,000 graduates through partnerships with government and institutional clients.

From Engineering Partner to In-House Powerhouse
The acquisition represents the culmination of a three-year engineering partnership during which Rubikal played a key role as the technical arm behind the development and scaling of iSchool’s platforms.
Mohamed Ibrahim, co-founder of Rubikal, takes on the role of Chief Technology Officer at iSchool, while Moustafa Badawy joins as Vice President of Engineering. The deal also brings 21 software engineers into iSchool’s growing technology division.
Muhammad Gawish, co-founder and CEO of iSchool, described the deal as a natural progression.

World-Class Engineering Talent to Deepen iSchool’s AI Stack
Rubikal brings more than headcount to this deal. Founded as a global software house, Rubikal delivered solutions for international clients, including Discovery Inc., The Walt Disney Company, Strada, InsideTrack, and Vestaboard, building a strong reputation for scalable, high-performance products across multiple industries.
Rubikal, founded in Egypt in 2016, develops real-time, scalable, fault-tolerant web applications. Through the acquisition, its engineering team and leadership will be fully integrated into iSchool, strengthening its ability to design, build, and deploy AI-powered education products.
In MENA, where many startups rely on outsourced or distributed technical teams, bringing engineering in-house often signals product maturity. It allows companies to iterate faster, protect intellectual property, and build differentiated products, especially in AI, where infrastructure and data integration are central to product development.
The Rubikal acquisition positions iSchool not just as a provider of coding lessons, but as a company building an AI infrastructure layer for schools worldwide.
