The two-day conference and exhibition will be held on June 11 and 12 at the EUI Event Centre in Rivers State under the theme “Syntropy”. Organisers say the expo will focus on collaboration, digital enterprise and technology-driven economic growth across the Niger Delta region.
Push for Regional Innovation
According to TechNexus Managing Director Belema George, the event aims to strengthen the South-South technology ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs with investors, policymakers, and industry leaders.

George explained that the word “Syntropy” reflects the idea of collective progress through cooperation and innovation. He said the expo would provide opportunities for mentorship, networking, startup funding and market access for emerging businesses in the region.
The organisers also confirmed that the programme would feature keynote speeches, startup pitch contests, panel discussions, hackathons and product showcases targeted at young innovators and technology professionals.
NDDC Expands Technology Focus
The partnership marks another step in the NDDC’s growing investment in digital innovation and youth empowerment initiatives across the Niger Delta.
The commission has increasingly backed technology programmes as part of efforts to create new economic opportunities for young people beyond the oil sector. During the 2025 edition of the expo, NDDC officials stressed the need to adopt technology and develop digital skills to prepare youths for future jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Organisers believe the 2026 expo will deepen those efforts by attracting broader participation from local and international stakeholders, including financial institutions, telecommunications firms and energy companies already supporting the initiative.
Startups and Investors Expected
The Port Harcourt Tech Expo has continued to grow since its earlier editions, with organisers positioning it as a platform for solving local problems through technology and innovation.
This year’s event is expected to host startup founders, software developers, creatives and business executives from across the Niger Delta and the Nigerian diaspora. Registration campaigns and sponsorship drives are already underway ahead of the June gathering.
Among the headline activities announced are a ₦5 million hackathon challenge and a technology pitch competition to connect innovators with potential investors and funding partners.
Industry observers say the expo reflects growing momentum within Port Harcourt’s technology community as more organisations seek to position the city as a rising hub for digital enterprise in Nigeria’s South-South region.
