Speaking at the milestone event, which took place during an ongoing week-long programme from February 9 to 13, 2026, Abdullahi expressed goodwill and commended CAC for its impressive track record of resilience and steady growth.
He noted that while many organisations experience a decline after their initial success, CAC has managed to “thrive, thrive, and thrive,” supported by visionary leadership, strategic reforms, and consistent performance.
In his reflections on his initial encounters with the commission, Abdullahi emphasised that the current Registrar General placed a high priority on organisational transformation from the outset, laying a strong foundation for efficiency and innovation in corporate governance and business registration.
NITDA’s commitment to enhancing CAC’s operation with AI
The NITDA chief underscored that true progress requires more than simple digitisation in an era of rapid digital advancement. He praised the Registrar General’s vision and determination to integrate AI into CAC’s operations, noting that meaningful advancement requires it.
He noted, “We are in the era of artificial intelligence, and the only way to transform institutions today is to embrace and integrate AI into operations.”
Abdullahi promised close cooperation to implement AI across critical processes and reassured CAC of NITDA’s unwavering partnership. He listed several advantages, including strengthening cybersecurity defences against fraud, hacking, and other threats; streamlining company registration and management for Nigerians; and simplifying workflows through the integration of intelligence.
The commission would gain a significant advantage over scammers by equipping CAC employees with cutting-edge AI tools that enable faster detection and response.
NITDA is committed to guiding the adoption of AI systems that adhere to national norms on data security, equity, and transparency.
AI integration to improve service delivery
The announcement supports the government’s efforts to leverage new technologies to improve public services. CAC has already reached notable milestones, including high daily registration volumes and alliances, such as its most recent partnership with Google to improve its portal and artificial intelligence capabilities.
