The program aims to cultivate an economy that combats global warming, overexploitation, and ocean pollution. By leveraging a network of stakeholders and facilitators, OceanHub Africa delivers a hybrid program designed to identify sustainable pathways, ensuring stable returns on investment and scalable growth opportunities across Africa.

Empowering Ocean-impact startups across Africa

The OceanHub Africa Acceleration Program offers numerous benefits to selected startups. These include up to $75,000 worth of cloud services through AWS Activate and over $40,000 worth of mechanical engineering design software licenses for prototyping and virtual testing, courtesy of 3DExperience Lab.

Participants gain access to Dassault Systèmes, Amazon Web Services, Hubspot support, and Notion Premium.

Legal advisory sessions with Sidley Austin, Bowmans, and Lex Mundi are also available, and depending on the startup’s target market, they can be valued at up to $50,000.

Advisory sessions with Mercator Ocean International, Blue Oceans Partners, Ocean14 Capital, WWF-SA, Dept. of Oceanography University of Cape Town, EuroSIMA, and more. The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business’ Centre for Coaching also offers self-development coaching.

To be eligible, startups must focus on having a direct or indirect positive impact on the oceans and be a for-profit venture operating in Africa.

They should provide a scalable product or service that is either available in the market or about to be released, be innovative and disruptive, and be looking for investments or seeking out new markets.

At least two C-level members of the team must be available for the program.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with two intakes each year in March and July
