The programme is seeking DeepTech and technology ventures developing solutions to some of Africa’s most pressing economic and social challenges. Selected startups can access investment opportunities from US$20,000 to US$50,000, along with business support to help founders expand their reach and strengthen their operations. Applications will remain open until 31 July 2026.
Focus on Africa’s Fast-Growing Innovation Sectors
Open Startup is accepting applications from ventures in Climate Technology, HealthTech, Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, EdTech, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other technology-driven industries. The organisation is looking for founders building scalable products that deliver measurable impact and contribute to economic development across the continent.
The initiative arrives at a time when African startups continue to attract investor attention despite funding challenges in several markets. Across the continent, entrepreneurs are increasingly turning to accelerator programmes and venture support networks to access capital, expertise and market opportunities.
Two Tracks for Emerging and Growth Stage Ventures
To accommodate startups at different stages of development, Open Startup has introduced two application pathways.
The Pre-Seed Track targets founders who are still validating their products and refining their business models. Participants will receive support to help them test solutions, understand customer needs, and prepare for future growth.
Meanwhile, the Seed Track is intended for ventures that have already gained market traction and seek to accelerate their expansion. These startups will have opportunities to engage with investors, industry leaders, and strategic partners who can support their next phase of development.
According to Open Startup, successful applicants will join a regional growth programme focused on investment readiness, business development and ecosystem engagement. The programme will also connect founders with networks that can help them scale beyond their local markets.
Mentorship, Investment and International Exposure
Selected startups will gain access to a regional training bootcamp, tailored mentorship and opportunities to showcase their solutions within African and international innovation ecosystems. The programme also includes investor and corporate matchmaking sessions, creating direct pathways to potential funding partners and commercial collaborators.
Participants can also benefit from fellowship opportunities that provide technical assistance, talent support, and specialist expertise to strengthen operational performance. Beyond financial support, startups will join a pan-African community of founders, mentors, investors, and ecosystem builders advancing innovation across the continent.
Open Startup says the initiative aims to help entrepreneurs sharpen their ventures, improve investment readiness, and build the relationships needed for long-term growth. Founders interested in joining the next cohort are encouraged to submit their applications before the 31 July deadline.
