TikTok continued to fortify its security measures worldwide by stepping up its enforcement of LIVE content. In Q2 2025, over 36.7 million violative LIVE sessions were stopped globally, a significant increase of almost 93 per cent from the 19 million sessions stopped in the previous quarter.

TikTok proactively stopped over 2,999,268 livestreams in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, and Morocco, and banned 1,331,424 LIVE hosts in Q2 2025 alone.

Nearly 3 million videos in Egypt taken down
TikTok removed 2,930,606 videos in Egypt in Q2 2025 for violating its community guidelines. With a proactive removal rate of 99.6 per cent, the nation ensured that almost all harmful content was identified and taken down before users complained.
Furthermore, TikTok demonstrated a high level of responsiveness by removing 95.8 per cent of offensive content within a day. In response to violations of the platform’s Community Guidelines, TikTok removed offensive short-form videos, banned 524,168 LIVE hosts, and stopped 1,189,411 livestreams.
TikTok deleted almost 5 million videos in Saudi Arabia
In Q2 2025, TikTok deleted 4,911,695 videos in Saudi Arabia for violating its Community Guidelines. With a 99.3 per cent proactive removal rate, the majority of offensive content was found before users had to report it. Furthermore, the platform swiftly removed 89.3 per cent of offensive videos within a day, demonstrating its ongoing efforts to respond promptly to emerging threats.
TikTok removed over 1 million videos in the UAE
In Q2 2025, 1,050,943 videos were taken down in the United Arab Emirates. TikTok demonstrated its continued dedication to safety by achieving a 98.9 per cent proactive removal rate and removing 95.8 per cent of videos within a day.
In addition, TikTok disrupted 192,482 livestreams and banned 105,985 LIVE hosts as part of its continuous efforts to maintain platform integrity and enforce safety regulations.
Over 700,000 videos shut down in Morocco
TikTok removed 721,029 videos in Morocco in Q2 2025, with a 99.2% proactive removal rate. The 96.2 per cent removal rate demonstrated the effectiveness of TikTok’s moderation procedures within 24 hours.
In keeping with its pledge to uphold Community Guidelines and safeguard the platform experience, TikTok also suspended 134,652 livestreams and banned 70,195 LIVE hosts.
TikTok takes down over 8 million videos in Iraq
The platform’s guidelines led to the removal of 8,316,646 videos in Iraq. In less than a day, the nation achieved a proactive removal rate of 99.5 per cent.
Regarding LIVE, TikTok disrupted 1,391,264 livestreams and banned 589,637 LIVE hosts for breaking the platform’s Community Guidelines.
Over 1 million videos detected in Lebanon
During the quarter, 1,064,802 videos were deleted from TikTok in Lebanon. With 97.5% of violating videos taken down within a day, the platform maintained the highest proactive removal rate in the area at 99.4%.
The platform reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a polite and safe environment by banning 41,439 LIVE hosts and disrupting 91,459 livestreams for violating Community Guidelines.
Enforcement of monetisation guidelines
To enforce its monetisation guidelines, TikTok is expanding the data it reports on LIVE safety. These rules discourage streams that violate them and reward content producers who provide high-quality, genuine, and safe content.
“We are expanding the LIVE safety data we report to reflect our actions to enforce our monetisation guidelines. These guidelines help reward creators who stream safe, authentic, and high-quality content, while preventing streams that go against these guidelines,” the social media platform stated.
It continued, ”In the second quarter of 2025, we took action, including warnings and demonetization, on 2,321,813 LIVE sessions and 1,040,356 LIVE creators for violating our LIVE monetization guidelines globally. Warnings help educate creators if their content may violate our guidelines so they can make a change. If no changes are made, we may then suspend a creator’s access to earn through monetization features on LIVE.”
TikTok’s content appeal and restoration procedure
TikTok’s content appeal and restoration procedure also demonstrated openness and justice. Videos were restored when users successfully challenged moderation decisions. With 189,037 restored videos, Iraq had the most, followed by Saudi Arabia (157,249), Egypt (136,171), Morocco (39,503), the United Arab Emirates (39,116), and Lebanon (22,488). These numbers showcase TikTok’s commitment to maintaining platform integrity by allowing users to contest moderation decisions if they perceive an error.
TikTok’s commitment to a safer online space
