Egyptian insurtech startup SehaTech has raised $1.1 million in seed funding to turbocharge its AI-powered platform that automates health insurance processes across Egypt and neighbouring regions.
This new capital infusion has increased SehaTech’s total funding to $2 million, demonstrating the strong confidence of investors in the company’s objective to simplify insurance administration and broaden coverage.
According to CEO Mohamed Elshabrawy, the company aims to transform the fragmented and manually intense insurance workflow landscape to drive both efficiency and accessibility.
Seed round led by Ingressive Capital
Ingressive Capital, a leading investor in emerging digital markets, Plus VC, strategic angel investors, and returning venture firms A15 and Beltone Venture Capital led the $1.1M seed round. The mix of new and old backers shows confidence in SehaTech’s vision and technology ahead.
“Our goal is not only to fix operational inefficiencies in medical insurance processing but also to expand access to quality health coverage,” said Elshabrawy, emphasising the dual technical and social mission underlying the company’s work.
The funding will support the expansion of the team and the continued development of AI-driven automation tools that have the potential to reduce fraud and costs in health insurance.
AI Automation at the core of SehaTech’s platform
SehaTech’s full-stack AI-based platform digitises the entire insurance lifecycle—handling eligibility checks, pre-authorisations, claims adjudication, fraud detection, and settlement. By turning manual back-office tasks into software-defined, rule-driven workflows, the system shrinks turnaround times and operational spending for payers and providers alike.
This smart automation lowers errors and exploitation and increases network transparency. Paperwork and varied administrative methods keep health insurance penetration low in Egypt and many other MENA countries.
SehaTech’s infrastructure aims to dismantle these barriers, making inclusive and affordable health coverage a reality for millions currently outside the insurance system.
SehaTech is poised to lead health insurance modernisation in Egypt and abroad by using technology to streamline and expand coverage.
