The initiative seeks projects capable of delivering practical results through new technologies, sustainable farming methods and digital tools that can help farmers adapt to changing environmental conditions.

The programme encourages partnerships that bring together research institutions, businesses, public organisations and other stakeholders to develop pilot projects with clear potential for wider adoption. By supporting real-world demonstrations, AGRInnova II aims to generate evidence that can inform future investment and agricultural policy.

Who Can Apply

Applications are open to legally registered organisations, including private companies, universities, research institutes, non-governmental organisations and public entities. Applicants are expected to form consortia that combine technical expertise with practical implementation experience.

Projects should focus on climate-smart agriculture and offer solutions that address challenges such as sustainable food production, efficient resource management, soil health, water conservation, renewable energy in agriculture and digital innovation. Organisers are also looking for proposals that can strengthen value chains and improve opportunities for farmers and rural enterprises.

Successful projects must demonstrate technical feasibility, measurable outcomes and the potential to benefit agricultural communities beyond the initial pilot phase.

Grant Support and Project Delivery

Selected consortia may receive grants of up to USD 150,000 to implement their pilot projects. Funding will support activities including technology testing, field implementation, stakeholder engagement and performance monitoring during the project period.

Beyond financial support, participants will have opportunities to collaborate with experts, research organisations and innovation partners involved in the AGRInnova II programme. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen knowledge sharing while helping promising solutions move towards wider adoption.

According to the programme guidelines, proposals will be assessed on innovation, technical quality, expected impact, sustainability, and the applicants’ capacity to deliver the proposed activities within the available timeframe.

Application Process

Interested organisations must submit their proposals through the official AGRInnova II application portal before the published deadline. Applicants are encouraged to review the full call documentation carefully to ensure their proposals meet the eligibility requirements and evaluation criteria.

The open call forms part of wider efforts to accelerate climate-resilient agriculture by supporting partnerships that translate innovative ideas into practical solutions. As climate pressures continue to affect food production across many regions, AGRInnova II offers researchers, businesses and development organisations an opportunity to test new approaches that can improve agricultural resilience while supporting sustainable economic growth.
