The technology company has opened applications for its 2026 STEM and Artificial Intelligence Education Grants programme, which aims to support projects that expand opportunities for women, girls and underserved communities in technology-related fields. According to grant information released by F5 and partner funding platforms, selected organisations will receive unrestricted funding, allowing them to allocate resources according to local needs and priorities.

Focus on Under-represented Communities

F5 said the programme seeks to strengthen pathways into technology careers for groups that continue to face barriers in STEM education. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organisations operating educational programmes that serve women, girls and communities with limited access to digital skills training.

The company noted that AI has become an added priority area as schools, employers, and governments increasingly adopt emerging technologies. Grant listings indicate that projects helping learners understand AI tools and digital innovation are likely to receive close attention during the selection process.

The programme comes at a time when interest in AI education continues to rise globally. Recent academic studies have highlighted the growing demand for ethical and culturally relevant AI learning models, particularly in African and developing countries.

$50,000 Funding Available

Grant documents show that ten nonprofit organisations are expected to receive one-time awards of $50,000 each. The funding is unrestricted, meaning recipients can use the money for operational costs, educational tools, staffing, outreach or programme expansion.

F5 employees from around the world will reportedly participate in the review and selection process. The company has previously supported STEM education initiatives for girls and women of colour through similar grant programmes from earlier years.

Organisations from countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America are encouraged to apply if their work aligns with the programme’s inclusion and education goals. Applicants are expected to demonstrate measurable community impact and long-term educational value.

Rising Demand for AI Education

The announcement reflects wider global efforts to expand AI literacy and prepare young people for technology-driven economies. Researchers have warned that unequal access to AI education could deepen social and economic divides if investment in inclusive training remains limited.

In West Africa, for example, pilot projects using AI-powered learning tools have already shown promise in helping students access personalised science education through widely used platforms such as WhatsApp.

Applications for the F5 STEM and AI Education Grants are now open through the company’s official grant portal and affiliated funding platforms.
