The initiative, backed by Nigeria’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training framework, aims to equip participants with practical media production skills and workplace experience in the growing creative economy. PODBETA NG is implementing the programme under the Federal Ministry of Education’s World Bank-supported IDEAS TVET project.
Six Months of Practical Media Training
According to programme details released by organisers, the training will run for six months and will focus on hands-on instruction in digital storytelling, photography, videography, podcasting, content creation, and media communication.
The programme will be delivered in two phases. Participants will first undergo three months of intensive classroom- and studio-based learning led by industry professionals. This will be followed by a three-month internship placement with media and production organisations, providing trainees with direct exposure to real-world working environments.
Organisers say the structure is intended to help young people build employable creative skills while also strengthening their professional portfolios.
Monthly Stipends and Certification
Selected participants will receive monthly stipends throughout the programme to support their learning period. Successful trainees will also obtain certificates after completing both the training and internship stages.
