He advised the cohort: “Be creative and forward-thinking. Use your life experiences together with your knowledge and skills to make a positive difference to those around you. Be bold and proactive. You are the future, so be bold with your positive actions.”

Dr Oyebamiji Ayodeji Daniel, a medical doctor and Master in Public Health graduate, expressed pride on behalf of all Nigerian Unicaf scholars: “The teaching was comprehensive, the assessments rigorous, and the tutors knowledgeable and supportive. Above all, the generous scholarships from Unicaf made it possible to earn a UK degree without breaking the bank.”

Jimmy Eden, a pharmacist from Northeast Nigeria, shared his journey of resilience and determination. “I picked up this programme with a 75% scholarship. It was a rigorous journey, balancing work, family, and studies,” he said.

Reflecting on his graduation in Lagos, he added: “Celebrating this success with my family is remarkable because Lagos represents hard work, resilience, and opportunity.”

Eden, who earned a Master’s in Public Health, highlighted the impact of his education: “The training has helped me apply evidence-based decisions in my work ensuring accessible medicines across five Nigerian states. I wouldn’t have gained this knowledge without the University of Suffolk.”

He encouraged aspiring students: “Education is not just for the young. Discipline yourself, start, and you’ll finish. The journey is worth it.”

Unicaf Chief Academic Officer Dr Kevin Andrews added: “This ceremony is a celebration, but also a message. Achievement deserves to be honoured properly. Success should be visible. Your education will travel with you into every future opportunity you pursue.”

The University of Suffolk, in partnership with Unicaf, offers online degrees including MBA, MSc Public Health, Law, Business Management, Computing, and International Nursing. Details: https://unicaf.uos.ac.uk/programmes
