The programme is for ambitious graduates who want practical experience, to contribute to real business projects, and to build long-term careers in banking, technology, and business operations. Capitec says participants will start with meaningful responsibilities, contributing to business outcomes while building professional skills.
Hands-On Experience from Day One
Unlike many entry-level schemes that focus heavily on observation, the Capitec Graduate Programme places participants directly in business environments where they can work on projects that affect clients and operations.
The bank says successful candidates will receive structured training, mentorship and rotational assignments that expose them to different areas of the organisation. These experiences are intended to help graduates build technical expertise while gaining a broader understanding of how the business operates.
Capitec emphasises qualities such as curiosity, initiative, teamwork and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking. The institution is seeking graduates who can identify opportunities, solve problems and contribute fresh ideas in a fast-moving environment.
Wide Range of Academic Disciplines Accepted
The programme is open to graduates from several fields, reflecting the bank’s growing focus on technology, analytics, and customer-centred innovation.
Eligible qualifications include Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Statistics, Human Resources and Business Management, among others.
Applicants must hold, or be completing, a relevant degree qualification. They must also have achieved a minimum average of 60 per cent and possess less than two years of formal work experience.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Capitec requires applicants to be South African citizens with a valid identity document. Candidates must also maintain clear criminal and credit records and be willing to relocate if necessary.
Opportunities may be based in Stellenbosch, Century City or Sandton, depending on business requirements. Graduates who are still completing their studies must provide proof of qualification no later than 15 January 2027.
With competition for graduate opportunities continuing to rise, the Capitec Graduate Programme offers a valuable route for young professionals seeking workplace experience, mentorship and exposure to one of South Africa’s most recognised banking brands. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the August deadline.
