Dr. Summy Smart Francis is President of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival, while Baher Mounir Ghabbour chairs the Egyptian edition, with Ambassador Nabila Makram serving as Secretary-General. The programme includes 12 key events such as a pitch competition, deal room, exhibitions, conferences, and an awards gala.

Officials say Egypt’s selection reflects its growing role as a regional hub for entrepreneurship, investment, and innovation, supported by its strategic location and economic influence as a gateway between African and global markets.

Dr. Hala El-Said, Advisor to the President for Economic Affairs, stated that the government, the Central Bank of Egypt, and the Financial Regulatory Authority are advancing regulatory and legislative reforms to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

A presidential advisor added that hosting the festival positions Cairo firmly on the global entrepreneurship map and deepens integration between Egyptian startups and international investment networks across Africa and beyond.

Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, highlighted a National Executive Program for Entrepreneurship aimed at unifying government efforts and improving the business environment ahead of the festival.

By hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Festival, Egypt seeks to reinforce Cairo’s status as a leading African hub for economic dialogue, innovation, and startup growth, leveraging its infrastructure, industrial base, and expanding domestic market.
