The programme, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by the FATE Foundation, is inviting founders with bold ideas and early-stage ventures to apply for a six-month incubation cycle.
Programme Targets Young Nigerian Founders
The incubation programme focuses on entrepreneurs aged 18-35 who are building startups with growth potential in sectors such as technology, agriculture, health, renewable energy, and the circular economy. Since its launch in 2019, Orange Corners Nigeria has supported more than 220 businesses through multiple cohorts across Lagos and Ogun State.
Organisers say the initiative aims to strengthen Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by helping young founders transform ideas into sustainable businesses. Participants selected for the programme will gain access to enterprise training, mentorship, business advisory services, and funding opportunities.
Training, Mentorship and Funding Support
The curriculum combines practical business classes with one-on-one advisory sessions. Entrepreneurs will receive training in areas including product development, business modelling, financial management, digital marketing, pitching, and fundraising.
Selected founders will also work with experienced mentors and industry professionals who will guide them throughout the incubation period. Organisers say the programme includes market access opportunities and connections to investors and business networks both within and outside Nigeria.
One of the major attractions remains access to funding support. Participants may qualify for prototype funding and market linkage opportunities worth up to €30,000 to help validate and scale their ventures.
Selection Process Includes Bootcamp Stage
The application process begins with an online submission, after which shortlisted applicants will move to a bootcamp phase. During the bootcamp, entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas and participate in evaluation exercises before final selections are made.
Based on the programme details, only a limited number of founders will be selected for the cohort after the assessment stage. Organisers encourage applicants to present ventures that show market potential and social or economic value.
Nigeria’s Startup Ecosystem Continues to Expand
The latest call comes at a time when startup support programmes are becoming more visible across Africa, particularly for young founders seeking early-stage funding and technical support. Discussions in online communities such as Reddit also show growing interest among Nigerian entrepreneurs seeking incubation and accelerator opportunities amid funding challenges in the local startup space.
Applications for the new Orange Corners Nigeria incubation cohort are currently open through the programme’s official portal.
