The international award, organised by the World Summit Awards (WSA), invites applications from young entrepreneurs, startups, NGOs, student groups, and project teams whose digital products are already making a measurable difference in communities. The programme seeks market-ready solutions that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Applications are open to participants from all UN and UNESCO member states, with entries closing on 15 October 2026. Organisers say the award aims to spotlight youth-driven innovation and connect promising projects with global experts, investors and innovation networks.
Who Can Apply?
The competition is reserved for teams led by young people. At least one founder and the majority of the team must be under 26, born on or after 1 January 1999. Eligible applicants include startups, social entrepreneurs, companies, NGOs, project teams and individuals.
To qualify, applicants must submit fully launched digital solutions that are already operating in real-world settings. Ideas, prototypes and unfinished products are not eligible for consideration. Organisers are particularly interested in solutions that demonstrate proven social or environmental impact.
Focus on Impact and Innovation
The award welcomes a wide range of digital products, including mobile applications, web platforms, games, wearable technologies, SMS-based services, kiosk systems, and other interactive digital tools. The common requirement is that each solution must have a clear digital component and measurable results.
Projects addressing education, healthcare, inclusion, poverty reduction, climate action, sustainability and community development are among those encouraged to apply. Every submission must align with at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
According to WSA, the programme seeks innovations that move beyond concepts and demonstrate how technology can address real challenges facing societies and the environment.
Global Exposure for Winners
The selection process involves an initial online jury review followed by evaluation from a grand jury. Shortlisted entries are assessed on impact, innovation quality and their contribution to sustainable development.
Winning teams will be invited to participate in the WSA Global Congress, where they can present their solutions to an international audience of experts, investors and fellow innovators. The event offers networking opportunities, mentorship and increased visibility on the global stage.
Beyond recognition, the award provides a platform for young innovators to showcase their work, build partnerships and expand the reach of their solutions. For many participants, it serves as a gateway to international collaboration and long-term growth.
